Dr. Mohinder Singh Kadian: A Pioneer in Potato Crop Improvement
- Dr. Mohinder Singh Kadian, from India, was among the distinguished Global Industry Award winners.
- Dr. Mohinder has dedicated over four decades to enhancing potato crop improvement in India and other South Asian countries like Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
- His expertise in agronomic practices, development of new varieties, and evaluation of True Potato Seed (TPS) has significantly benefited the potato farming community in South Asia.
- Starting his journey as an Associate Scientist at the International Potato Center (CIP) in 1983, Dr. Mohinder continues to contribute to the socio-economic development of potato farming communities in India.
- Currently serving as a Senior Consultant for CIP, he is involved in various projects across regions like ICAR, Karnataka, West Bengal, Haryana, and Odisha Meghalaya.
- Dr. Mohinder’s contributions extend beyond field research, with over 122 scientific publications showcasing his dedication to advancing potato research.
- His remarkable work has earned him numerous prestigious awards for his significant impact on potato research and development.
