The GPS 2025 aims to cover the entire spectrum of the potato industry, encompassing farming, storage, processing, packaging, machinery, and exports. It will serve as a crucial platform for dialogue, networking, and exploring new business opportunities in both domestic and international markets. The event anticipates participation from government entities, trade bodies, renowned companies from India and across the globe, and institutions from over 15 countries, solidifying its position as an influential forum for collaboration and knowledge exchange. Further amplifying its international stature, the Global Potato Summit is also partnering with international events such as Potato Europe in the Netherlands and Potato Days Turkey, collaborations expected to attract high-level technical expertise and top-tier global exhibitors.
India’s prominent role in the global potato landscape makes it an opportune location for the Summit. As the world’s second-largest potato producer, India offers a vibrant and promising market, driven by diverse agro-climatic conditions, a robust agricultural sector, and increasing domestic demand. The Indian frozen potato products market alone was valued at USD 1.77 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach USD 7.23 billion by 2032, with a remarkable CAGR of 17% between 2024 and 2032.
M. B. Naqvi, Chief Coordinator of the Global Potato Summit and CEO of Media Today Group, emphasized South Asia’s pivotal role in the potato industry, highlighting the immense opportunities within the thriving Asian market. He stated that the Asia-Pacific region is projected to account for 57% of global market growth, with countries like China, India, and Bangladesh leading in production. Regional consumption patterns further shape the market dynamics in the APAC region, with potatoes being among the most widely consumed foods in many Asian countries, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand, China, and Myanmar, as well as in the MENA region.

In 2024–25, Mantra procured over 350,000 metric tonnes of potatoes, collaborating with over 10,000 farmers, becoming India’s largest supplier of processing-grade potatoes.
