The Jalandhar Potato Growers Association (JPGA) is hosting the 9th Annual Potato Exhibition, scheduled to take place on September 7th and 8th, 2024, at Dana Mandi, Kartarpur, Jalandhar in Punjab. This event is specially designed for farmers and the broader community interested in potato cultivation, offering an excellent platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and showcasing advancements in the potato industry.
Punjab, often referred to as the “Seed Bowl of Potato” in India, is known for producing the highest and best quality seed potatoes in the country. In the 2022-23, Punjab ranked 5th in overall potato cultivation, contributing approximately 3.15 million tonnes of potatoes. This impressive production of seeds and overall potato production certifies the region’s significance in the national potato landscape, making the upcoming exhibition even more essential for local farmers and stakeholders.
About JPGA
The Jalandhar Potato Growers Association plays a pivotal role in promoting all facets of the potato industry. Since its inception, the association has launched a vigorous membership campaign, garnering significant responses from the farming community. The JPGA is dedicated to fostering cooperation and coordination among various stakeholders, including seed manufacturers, fertilizer companies, and plant protection product managers.

Additionally, Scientists, Processing companies and Industry experts will actively engage with participants, providing valuable insights and information relevant to the potato sector.
As an exciting highlight, the exhibition will include five lucky draws, with the grand prize being a Farmtrac 39 Champion Tractor followed by Power Harrow from Shaktiman and Khinda Tractor Mounted Boom Sprayer, further incentivizing attendance and participation among the farming community.
