Following the successful launch of its first edition, Media Today Pvt. Ltd. is set to host the 2nd edition of the Global Potato Summit (GPS 2026) on 16–17 December 2026 at the Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
Positioned as an international Exhibition, Conference, Networking Meet & Awards, GPS 2026 will bring together the potato industry under one platform, connecting stakeholders across the value chain — from seed, cultivation and farm technology to storage, processing, packaging, cold chain, food manufacturing, exports and international trade.
The summit is designed to create a strong platform for business, knowledge exchange, technology discovery and international networking, providing industry professionals with opportunities to meet decision-makers, explore new markets and develop meaningful business partnerships.
The first edition of the Global Potato Summit, held in December 2025, brought together stakeholders from across India and overseas, including growers, processors, exporters, machinery and technology companies, researchers, industry experts and other professionals associated with the potato value chain.
The strong response to the inaugural edition demonstrated the growing need for a dedicated platform where the potato industry can meet, exchange ideas and explore new business opportunities. GPS 2026 builds on this foundation with a stronger international focus and an expanded programme covering business, technology, knowledge and networking.
India offers a compelling opportunity for companies involved in the global potato and processed-food industry. A large consumer base, evolving food preferences, growth in organised food service and increasing demand for value-added and convenience foods are creating opportunities across the potato sector.
The opportunity extends well beyond fresh potatoes. There is growing potential across frozen and processed products, French fries, chips and snacks, flakes, starch, food ingredients, processing equipment, farm machinery, seed technology, storage, cold chain, packaging and supply-chain solutions.
For international companies, GPS 2026 offers an opportunity to understand the Indian market, meet potential customers and business partners, connect with processors and buyers, explore distribution and technology partnerships, and establish stronger relationships within one of the world's important potato-producing markets.
The 2026 edition is already attracting interest from international companies and industry stakeholders looking to explore opportunities in India and connect with businesses across the wider potato value chain.
The international presence at GPS 2026 will create opportunities for Indian and overseas companies to exchange technologies, identify potential collaborations and explore new markets. From machinery and processing solutions to seed, storage, packaging, food technology and supply-chain innovations, the summit will provide a platform for companies to present their capabilities to a focused industry audience.
The event is expected to bring together international companies, business delegations, growers, processors, exporters, technology providers, machinery manufacturers, buyers, investors, researchers and senior decision-makers, making it an important business meeting point for the sector.
The GPS 2026 exhibition will showcase products, technologies and solutions covering the entire potato value chain.
Exhibitors will have the opportunity to demonstrate their latest products, introduce new technologies, meet prospective customers, engage with industry leaders and explore business partnerships.
For visitors, the exhibition will provide an opportunity to discover new machinery, processing technologies, storage and cold-chain solutions, packaging innovations, agricultural technologies and other products shaping the future of the potato industry.
With participation from both established companies and emerging businesses, the exhibition will provide a comprehensive view of the technologies and solutions available across the sector.
The International Conference will bring together industry leaders, experts, researchers, entrepreneurs and professionals from across the global potato sector to explore the market dynamics, growth drivers and emerging business opportunities shaping the future of the industry.
The conference programme will cover key areas including global potato production and trade, seed innovation, mechanisation, cultivation practices, disease and pest management, post-harvest management, cold-chain infrastructure, processing technologies, evolving food trends, sustainability and emerging opportunities across the potato value chain.
The sessions will provide a platform for knowledge exchange, strategic industry dialogue and practical insights, with a strong focus on market development, commercial opportunities and the challenges and possibilities facing growers, processors, technology providers and businesses.
Beyond the conference sessions, the event will create opportunities for business networking, partnership building and market connections, bringing together stakeholders from across the value chain to explore potential collaborations, new markets, investment opportunities, technology partnerships and avenues for business growth.
Adding a practical dimension to the summit, curated farm and factory visits will allow delegates to experience the potato value chain beyond the exhibition floor.
Participants will have the opportunity to gain insights into modern cultivation practices, mechanisation, quality management, processing operations, food manufacturing and other aspects of the potato value chain.
These visits are intended to complement the conference discussions by providing delegates with practical exposure to technologies, processes and business practices.
Gujarat provides a strong ecosystem across agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, logistics, technology and exports, making Gandhinagar a strategic location for an international potato industry gathering.
The state's industrial base, food-processing capabilities and connectivity with domestic and international markets provide an ideal environment for companies to explore business opportunities and develop new commercial relationships.
Hosting GPS 2026 in Gandhinagar also brings the international potato industry closer to an important and growing food-processing and agribusiness ecosystem.
Global Potato Summit 2026 is designed to be more than an exhibition. It is a platform where businesses meet potential partners, technology meets industry requirements, and international companies discover opportunities in India.
With strong international interest, participation from across the potato value chain and a programme combining exhibition, conference, networking, awards and practical industry visits, GPS 2026 offers an opportunity for businesses to stay ahead of industry developments and build connections that can lead to future growth.
Companies, organisations, industry professionals, international businesses, technology providers, growers, processors, exporters, buyers and investors are invited to participate in Global Potato Summit 2026 and be part of this important gathering of the global potato industry.
